Today's Featured Biography
Phillip Heard
Most of you signed on to this website should remember me. I remember all of you. It kind of surprised me to see a lot of people totally left out of the list. I left Lafayette in my senior year of high school to live in Houston, TX where I graduated from Taylor High School (Go Mustangs!). I briefly returned to Lafayette but then decided to join the Army. Just couldn't wait to see the world. I worked on nuclear weapons in Italy for a little over 3 years but once the wall came down I became an Intelligence Analyst. That is the simplified version of my career in the Army but it has been very diverse. I've lived in Italy, Germany, Greece, Belgium, Korea, Kuwait, Iraq, all over the States, and I've visited so many other places. The latter half of my career was especially challenging as I became a single parent to my daughter. Trust me, it is harder for a man. I can't believe she is almost 18 and just the other day she was falling asleep on my chest. Anyway, about that diverse career. I've trained literally thousands of people around the world - including Iraqis. I've produced products of which you have at least heard a derivative. I've enjoyed being there when world-changing events were happening instead of reading of them in the paper. On the other side of that I've danced in a Canga line during Festivale in Venice. Had snowball fights and stomped on the bull's balls in Milano. Got drunk as hell at the Munich Oktoberfest. Skied from some of the highest peaks in Italy, France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Fished in the North Sea. "Experienced" Amsterdam. Drank Soju (don't do it) and ate Kimshi in downtown Itaewon. Visited Buckingham Palace. Seen the Mona Lisa (a few times). Enjoyed the beach in Nice. Been to some of the places I had only read about in the bible while in Iraq - awe inspiring. In the not-to-distant future I may be on my way to Afghanistan as a contractor. Greg, if you're reading this, I still haven't been to Africa or Australia.
Now my life revolves around making sure my daughter gets into the school of her choice and sets herself up for a productive, happy life.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
