Sharon Herpin Campbell
I am from the region which is known as Acadiana. Louisiana. I have worked in the personal injury field of law. I currently am an entrepreneur and spend my time as a numismatist. I spent a lot of time in Texas growing up, that's why I love Texas. I graduated form Lafayette High School, Lafayette, Louisiana in 1971. I attended the University of Lafayette at Lafayette, Louisiana and majored in pre-law. In 1992 I ran for the city council of Lafayette.
I have been married to Dr. Charles L. Campbell for the past 34 years. Charles is a consulting geologist. He attended the University of Kansas, Lawrence, Kansas; Washington and Lee, Lexington, Virginia and Tulane University, New Orleans. Charles is from West Hartford, Connecticut. His father was "The Fuller Brush Man" and the book "A Foot In The Door" was about Mr. Campbell. Chuck's godfather was Mr. Alfred C. Fuller. Charles remembers the great circus fire of the Barnam and Bailey circus in the early 1940's in West Hartford, Connecticut.
Chuck and I like to play golf, some of the places we have played include: Callaway Gardens, Georgia; the course at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando, Florida; Sandestin, Destin, Florida; Bluewater Bay, Florida and Innisbrook, Tarpon Springs, Florida. We have traveled to many places including Texas, Colorado, Virginia, Ohio, Utah, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, New Mexico, Wyoming, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Arizona. I have been to Europe as well as Honduras.
I love law and politics and the government of this great country. I have studied law and continue to study law. I have earned many legal assistant certificates, earning certificates from N.R.I.; Southern Career Institute; At-Home Professions; Blackstone School of Law; Professional Career Institute; Thomson Education Direct, and ICS Learning Centers and most recently received my Advanced Paralegal Certification from Penn Foster Career College. I have earned a legal secretarial certificate; a business management certificate and a desk-top publishing certificate.
I have worked on numerous political campaigns, including city council members, a judge, a state representative, a U.S. representative and a U.S. Senator.
I also write, (I authored "Friendship's Tapestry"), I play golf, I had a hole-in-one once. I also swim, play tennis, read, travel, collect art, and play bridge. I love gardening and oil painting. I also participated and sang in the choir of the First Baptist Church of Lafayette, Louisiana where I sang soprano. I am also a member of the Acadiana Republican Women's group. I am very interested in the future of our country and would like to see our country get back on the right track.
Abroad, I have been to England, Holland, France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Austria. I traveled to Innisbrook, Austria, and Kitzbuhl (home of past winter olympics). I have seen Big Ben, The Thames River, #10 Downing Street, the cottage of Anne Hathaway and Stratford-upon-Avon in England. I have been to Buckingham Palace and I also visited the Tower of London (I saw the crown jewels). I have seen the American Embassy in London; Selfridges' Department Store; Harrod's Department Store; in Holland, I traveled to Amsterdam; In France, I have been to Paris, I saw the Eiffel Tower, the famed Arch de Triomphe and Versailles (with is famed Hall of Mirrors where the Treaty of Versailles was signed and also its beautiful gardens); I saw the Bibliotheque and the Louvre as well as the French Rivera, Monaco, Nice and its Galleries de Lafayette. I saw the leaning tower of Pisa as we traveled from the French Riviera to Paris. In Germany, I traveled to Cologne and Bonn and cruised down the Rhine River and also visited Heidelberg; in Italy, I traveled to Rome where I visited Tivoli Gardens, St. Peter's Bascillica and traveled down the famed Appian Way; I also visited Venice, and Florence, the home of the glass-blowers. I also visited Switzerland, stayed in a Swiss Chalet, had fondue and also visited Lucerne, the Lion's Monument and I also visited Zurich, Switzerland. I also tried skiing high in the Alps.
