Today's Featured Biography

Stacie Honaker Johnson
Hi Everyone it certainly has been a long time, most of you I have not seen since school but there are quite a few of you I have had the opportunity to get to know on a more personal level after High School.
I have read many of your profiles and all the great things that are going on for you now and its wonderful to see how you all have prospered.
I know there are many of you that I never really took the opportunity to get to know, I wish I had.
As for me during school, I was one of the kids who had alot of baggage to deal with concerning home life growing up, it wasn't the most desirable place to be unfortunetly. Which was mainly my reason for being the girl that was kinda awkward and kept to herself. Why I am sharing this I have no idea. After school things kind of spiraled further down for many years. Went through a marriage and divorce with a son in 1994 from that marriage. In 1998 I met my husband and we had 2 girls in 1999 and 2000.
We moved to Florida in May of 2007 to work for an organization called Teen Challenge which is a 12 month residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation center for men 18 and over. Since moving to Florida and working with the men who come to our center broken beyond what most would consider repairable, I have finally put my past to rest and have found peace, self worth, and integrity. I have found that the things we go through as children, teens, even adults that are difficult and hurt, are preparing us to be able to understand and help others who are not so strong. I absolutely love my job; as quiet and shy as I was in school I have grown into someone I never thought I could be. I have been placed in postions within our organization that I never thought possible. To help mentor, teach, and lead others into the person they also never dreamed was inside of them. It is so awesome to see the transformations of people who are so messed up as I once was.
My Husband and I are very involved with our childrens lives. We manage and asst. both of our daughters softball teams. As a family we have recently been involved in some local drama productions. We are also involved in furthering our Leadership education through the Emerging Leaders program through our organization. Our plan was/is to complete our schooling and return to Maryland to open a Teen Challenge family center, or 4 separate centers mens, womens, Juv. girls and Juv. boys. We have had a few opportunities recently to go to 2 different centers as Program Directors but at this time we remain in prayer about those open doors.
Sorry if my Bio has not given everyone the warm fuzzies but I have also learned over the years to just keep it real and be myself.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
