Today's Featured Biography
Nicole Washburn Dunn
Hello everyone.
I'm still living in Cordoba, Argentina after 14 years. It's more and more my home especially after having twin boys in 2000 and settling into the lifestyle for the long run. Since the boys were born I've pretty much focused on being a stay at home mom. I've done a bit of teaching at our Environmental Learning Center, La Lucena, which I helped my husband, Peter, set up in 1993. It's still going strong and allows us to have steady work while living in the countryside, spending most of our time outside, and able to set our own pace to life. I spend a lot of time doing art (mostly collage)and writing. It keeps me looking at things in a fresh way!
Argentina is beautiful and a great place to raise a family.
On the down side, I was diagnosed with cancer four years ago. Luckily it was caught and treated in time. I'm fine now, but it sure encouraged me to look at life in a new way, learn to relax and enjoy a lot more. It was a big milestone, to say the least.
My sons just started 3rd grade this week...March is back to school month here. My Dad retired from Perrypoint and moved to a nearby town here in Cordoba. Sean, my brother, comes to Argentina often, and this summer we had our old teacher Mr. Clark (remember him?) visiting for a month. So I'm more in touch with people from home than I've been for years. I've been terrible about keeping in touch with pretty much everyone from Rising Sun, I'm sorry to say.
What else??? I'd love to make it up to the reunion but don't know if I can. Still, it's nice to get back in touch with the class this way. Thanks to all who facilitated it!
