Desiree Howard Hourigan

Hey!

20 Years? Wow! It truly doesn't feel like it. I have some great memories from High School and I think about everyone fondly and smile a lot. I see people from time to time but unfortunately, I haven't really spent a lot of time with any of my old friends. Life just gets busy and your family becomes your priority. I am very excited to see everyone after 20 years and I am looking forward to helping plan this thing with Sherrie, Darren, and Sharon!
I'll go ahead and give you an update on me so you won't be bored to tears at the reunion-
After High School I went to NWMSU for a semester and figured out that I liked to party a lot more than I liked to study. I then came home, worked, then moved to the Ozarks for a summer and waited tables. (that was a good summer!) Moved back to KC and lived with Jill Bodinson-Copeland while waiting tables at Houlihan’s in OP. That is where I met and fell in love with my awesome husband Mike.
We were married in February of 92 and our first son soon followed in July of 92. Two more boys followed and we just celebrated our 16 year anniversary.
We currently live in Longview Farm in Lee's Summit and I have been employed by the City's IT Department for 10 years now. My husband works for Cerner and we love to play more than we love to work. We are very happy and feel extremely blessed.
My mom and dad still live in the same house in Grandview and both of my brothers (Jason- class of 87 and Derek- class of 84) live very close to us in Lee's Summit. We spend a lot of time together and our combined 8 kids are very close 1st cousins! We travel quite a bit to Colorado and Ohio to spend as much time as we can with my husband's mom, 5 siblings/spouses, and 13 nieces and nephews.
I know how fortunate I am to have the life I have and I try to not take anything for granted. Although, sometimes I feel like I live in a fraternity house with all of the boys coming and going. Raising a teenager is quite different than raising a toddler! Anyway - I am having a blast and wish I could freeze time. I always heard that High School and College were supposed to be the time of our lives. They were great but for me, nothing can compare to right now.
