Sandra Nesbit Tracy
Our small yard is a certified wildlife habitat.
We have two cats, Chessa and Nicky, adopted from shelters at ages 6 and 10 respectively.
I've lived in Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Colorado, Wyoming, California, Guam, and now we are first time home buyers in Illinois.
Work experience includes freelance journalist, Job Corps instructor, advocate for people with mental illness (Protection and Advocacy Services of Iowa), program assistant for Palo Alto Children's Theatre, program assistant for Lutheran-Catholic Refugee Cooperative Services in Iowa, legal secretary for criminal defense law firm in Pacific Grove, administrative assistant for Dean's Office, College of Applied Human Sciences, Colorado State, adjunct/temporary assistant professor/lecturer for these universities: University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, University of Guam, University of Wyoming.
Now I am focusing on writing and photography.
I am an amateur photographer and show photography in group shows. Some of my poems have been published in Lyrical Iowa, Patches of Iowa, Poetry Shell of the Monterey Peninsula, and Literary Voices of Larimer County.
Education: BA, philosophy and religion, Tarkio College (Missouri) 1967; MA, communication (journalism), Stanford University, 1995; PhD, Education and Human Resource Studies, Colorado State University, 2005
Husband John's work: Western Illinois U., Chair of the Social Work department.
We enjoy our 12 grandchildren ages 21 to 7.
