Today's Featured Biography
Michael Askins
After SHS, went to OBU for a week or two and then was offered a job at KGFF. I also did some fill-in work at KVRO, Stillwater. I've been with KGFF all these years as a DJ, then the titles started adding up: Music Director, Production Director, Chief Operator, Program Director, Operations Manager and now General Manager as well. I still do a live Morning Show and Swap Shop each week day. I have been married to an amazing woman for nearly 30 years now and we have three sons. With my boys, I have had a ton of experiences as a Cub Scout & Boy Scout leader as well as a trainer for other adults. Along with all 3 boys, I have been involved in the Order of the Arrow (scouting's honor society) and all 4 of us have attained the Vigil Honor. I was also awarded the Silver Beaver. I have been through Wood Badge and have staffed a course too. Too many other camping/scouting events to mention. Our family volunteers with the local Salvation Army. I still keep up with my love of music and art. I play the guitar and sing and still draw just as I loved to do back at SHS.
