Today's Featured Biography
Martha Scott Blevins
Married to Mike since Sept. 1967. We moved all over the US in our first five years and ended up in the Woodlands, Tx north of Houston for 17 years. We then moved to Lake Conroe for 14 years.
We have now built a home in Tabernash, CO. 8 miles north of Winter Park, CO. Back to my beloved mountains and only 70 miles from both our boys and four grandchildren-Molly 7 & Charley(Charlotte)5, and Maren 7 & Joshua 5.
After college at OSU, I worked as a social worker until Mike completed his masters. I later went back to school at U of Houston for a degree in interior design and opened my own business in 1989; Yours by Design.
The mountains kept beckoning and after 5 summers in Winter Park, we started building in the mountains. Tabernash is 3 miles north of Fraser, CO where the motto is "Icebox of the United States". However, Tabernash has no weather station(barely a post offfice) so we don't have official temperatures. When Frasure was recently discussing a more real estate friendly motto, the best they could come up with was "warmer than Tabernash". I think you get the idea.
We have our own zip line, snowshoe trails, sledding hill and beginner ski slope on our place. Perfect for younguns learning to play in the snow and unparalled 180 degree views of the Continental Divide, James & Parry Peaks, Winter Park ski slopes, and Byers Peak.
We love the mountains and feel very blessed to be so near our kids and grandkids.
