Today's Featured Biography
John Eli Eli
I entered UT in the fall of 1964. After 1 1/2 years there I dropped out - got tire of school or was just two young at the time. Went to work...got drafted into the Army in 1967. Was in Germany in 1967...went to Viet Nam in January 1968 just before the Tet Offensive... I was an Infantry grunt and tunnel rat.
Went back to UT in Spring 1969...graduated with a BBA in May 1971. Married in 1970... divorced in 1997... we had two children.....Kyle lives in Round Rock and Sarah lives in London, England. Worked in public accounting for about 5 years in San Antonio and Austin. Got my CPA license. Went to work for a telcom construction company in 1975 in Austin and was there for 29 years. Did quite a bit of traveling as the Division Controller there. Got downsized and did consulting work for the next few years. Retired in 2010. In April 2013, a friend and former co-worker talked me into coming to a job interview where she worked, so now I'm working in Austin again, but live in New Braunfels. I enjoy UT football, am on the board of directors of the Texas Military Forces Museum at Camp Mabry in Austin, and am heavily involved in reenacting in many time periods of Texas military forces... mainly WWII and Civil War, but do others as well.
