Today's Featured Biography
Stephen Houston
After Travis High School, I graduated from UT Austin (where I was in the Longhorn Band), then on to medical school at UT San Antonio Medical School. I finished my 3 year Dermatology residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1977.....then back to Austin as fast as I could go!
Married Carla Green (Austin HS grad) in 1968, had my first 2 kids (son Chris and daughter Emily). Later married my wife of 25 years now, Dixie. We have a daughter Kate, who is a student at UT Austin as we speak, majoring in Philosophy for the time being.
I am very happy, still practicing Skin Cancer surgery 4 days a week at my clinic in south Austin, Southwest Skin & Cancer Clinic PA. I am lucky to see several of my old high school friends every year, and many of their parents and children, too.
My main hobby is photography, but over the years, I have spent a good deal of time hunting,too. Dixie and I now have a little ranch just west of Llano that entertains us considerably now, particularly on weekends. I don't expect to ever live there full time....I am an Austin boy, but the country does rejuvenate me every time I'm there.
I still see my old best friend Dan McAngus regularly, and I often run into Clifton Lind, William Hyden, Linda Kundinger, Bobby Sanders, and others hanging around the Austin scene, but I am almost always home by 9 PM....you know what I mean?
Best news lately is that I am scheduled to be a grandfather (Finally!!) in May 2010!!
Life is good, and I appreciate every day that I have been given, and all my friends and family.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you for the reunion in April.
