Where should I start; it's been 20 years, but it doesn't seem like it. I went off to university in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I spent four great years. In October 1989 I met the love of my life Mark. I moved back to Lincoln after school, and had to try to find a job in the middle of a recession. After trying to figure out what to do, I ended up as a math mentor for LPS and as an educational therapist/director of mathematics programs for my mom's home-based business in Omaha. I loved both, so I decided to get my teacher's certificate, just for extra validation. For two years, I drove back and forth to Peru State College, as well keeping my two part-time jobs. After certification, I just kept doing what I had before, still loving it.
In the meantime, Mark came down to Lincoln to get his master's at UNL. We were married June 23, 1994. We stayed in Lincoln, taking care of my grandparents and working, for many years. After they passed away, Mark started looking for a new job, and received an offer in Decatur, Illinois. So, in January 2007, I quit my LPS job and we moved here to central Il. I tried to quit my other job, but so far I haven't been allowed to. So, I'm working very part-time from home and travelling back to Omaha every few months. I fill my time with new friends and old hobbies I didn't have time for when I was working; I love it. We're about an hour away from three cities with things to do, so we get to go out a bit. I have found a lot of symphony and musical performances to attend. We still miss Lincoln and all of our old friends, although it is nice that we are closer to Mark's parent now, since they live in Lindsay, Ontario.
