"Secretary at Erie Day School for 22 years"
Anne Gaido Giolitto, 92, formerly of Raspberry St., died Monday, June 16, at Golden Living Western Reserve. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on October 13, 1915, a daughter of the late Rose Farulli Gaido Chiocca. She was raised by her grandparents, Luisa and Oreste Susini, in Erie, Pa. and lived in Erie most of her life.
She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in June of 1933. She worked for the Community Chest of Erie County and United Way of Erie County for 23 years. She was Assistant to the Manager Community Chest of Erie County and later Executive Secretary to the Director of United Way of Erie County. She was Office Manager and Bookkeeper when the Child-Parent Bureau, with its Legal Aid, Travelers Aid and Child-Parent Departments, was founded which later became the Family and Child Service of Erie. She was Secretary and Bookkeeper at Erie Day School for 22 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Church, a former member of the Woman's Club and a member of the Zukor Club and East Erie Turners Auxiliaries
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Giolitto, in 1958; and her brother, Frank Chiocco, in 1990.
She is survived by her brother, Ralph Chiocco, and his wife, Dorothy, of Edinboro, Pa.; two cousins, Louis Pasquinelli of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Larry Pasquinelli and his wife, Joanne, of Cranberry, Pa.; and a sister-in-law, Antoinette Chiocco, of Erie. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 1626 W. 26th St., Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church, 1626 W. 26th St., Erie, PA 16508.
