Today's Featured Biography
Yvonne Ulrich Pierce
After graduation, I did many odd jobs until I found a job I loved as a ballroom dance instructor. I did that for 10 years until 1989. I got to travel to Seattle, to Hawaii (twice!), and to Las Vegas for the Fred Astaire National Dance Championships.
During this time, I had my first daughter, Amanda Faith (1983). . . although in high school, I thought I'd name a girl Stormy Dawn or Malibu Feather; my children thank me now for more normal names. Due to being a single parent, I decided to go to college. I began that journey in 1989 - for a better career to support my daughter. Since I was working full time, and not sure what I wanted to be when I grew up . . . I finally graduated in 1998 with a B.A in History/English. By this time I had met my husband, Chuck. We were married and had a girl, Bethany Ann (1998).
In 2004, I received my Masters in teaching, and am currently substitute teaching and trying, with lots of prayer, to get a full time teaching position.
My oldest daughter is married and I have 2 grandsons, Gabe (3)and Logan (1). They love to visit granny & papa's house!
Although I have traveled to the Lower 48, I have lived in Alaska since 1969 - Alaska is home! I have not attended any of the reunions but am looking for to this one.
