Today's Featured Biography
Kay Sorensen Estavillo
Hi My Dear Friends,
Here is a quick summary of my life to-date...thanks for taking the time to read it!
I graduated from Cal State LA in March, 1972 with a BS in Sociology, then received my teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona in Dec. 72. I was hired by Chino Unified in Jan. 73 as a 2nd grade teacher (and I am STILL teaching at that same school, 34.5 years later!)
I married Gabriel King in July, 1974. We have two wonderful sons, Jonathan and Joshua. However, life was NOT wonderful. Thanks to the grace of God, in 2001 I connected with some of my caring classmates (De, Sharon, Mickey, Gary, Gertie-you know who you are!) I was given encouragement, support, and wisdom to make changes I know I should have made years earlier. Gabe and I divorced in Jan. 2002.
Soon I met a wonderful Godly man, Elias. We both believe that the Lord brought us together and continues to bless us each day. We became husband and wife Aug. 16, 2003. Elias has rescued me from a life of debt, depression, and despair. He is a loving, accepting, supportive step-dad to Jon and Josh, and has made such a difference in their lives as well. ELIAS IS MY HERO!
I am amazed at the joy I have back in my life, and I praise God for allowing me a second chance.
Elias retired from the Postal Service in Jan. 2007, and I am hoping I can retire in 2008, or 2009 at the latest. I still love teaching, but I have a 30 mile commute each way which is NOT fun.
I hope to see you all at the next reunion...friendships are precious to me.
