John Kreutzer
After AC I graduated from UNC, Greeley in 68 with a major in Math, Minor in Physics and a Teaching Degree. Vietnam called me so I joined the Navy. Before I went to Vietnam, Sue and I were married. In 69 I was commissioned a Ensign and soon was sent to Guam to fly as a Naval Flight Officer in a WC121, (Lockhead Super Connie). We flew out of DaNang for 2 weeks up to the gulf every month and chased typhoons the rest of the time. In 71, I left the Navy, joined the USNaval Reserves and soon began teaching in Mapleton Public Schools, math to 6, 7, 8 grades, later in our Alternative School, then the high school. I got my MA in Adminstration, became a high school and middle school VP. Moved into adminstration of student computer systems and finally a Energy Manager before I retired in 2008. In 1990 I became the Commanding Officer of a Naval Reserve Unit, and in 1993 retired from the US Navy with the rank of Commander. In 1999 we bought 35 acres outside of Parker, built a little house and hugh barn and arena. We have 16 horses here with our daugher-in-law running a training program here. Last year, Sue retired from Aurora Public Schools and bought a small business. We find retirement great, are very busy.
