Today's Featured Biography
Darwin Shreve
After graduation I went to university, but dropped out after the end of my second year -I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and I couldn't see much point in getting a degree in a subject I might not be able to use. Inevitably I went into the mililtary. I served in Korea, Viet Nam and finally, England.
I married an English school teacher, went back to university via night school, acquired a B.Sc. in psychology then an M.Sc. in counselling. Left the military and became a social worker in England. Eventually, I was offered a two year secondment on full pay to go back to univerity to do a Diploman in Social Work - the U.K. professional qualification all SWs much legally have in order to be registered with the General Social Care Council. Along the way I completed many, many short courses, seminars, workshop and other types of training at places like Oxford Univerity, Cambridge University, London, Birmingham and the Royal Society for the Protection of Public Health and Hygiene.
I specialized in working with abused children and teenagers initially, but branched out to include children without parents who were applying for political asylum. The Home Office eventually offered me a six month secondment to help set-up and manage the national Asylum Support Service, and then they offfered me a permanent contract which I accepted since the pay was about 40% more than I was earning as a SW.
To cope with the stress I took up painting (oils, pastels and water colors). I have exhibited many times and I have six paintings hanging in private collections in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Cambridge and other locations around England. I should have gone to art school, but 'should of' never got the cow milked.
I enjoyed the job and then retired three years later. I have three sons to contribute to the gene pool, and I am now separated from my wife of 35 years. We will soon be legally divorced - hopefully.
I am reasonably happy and currently content. I'd love to get together with old friends at least once. Especially Cheryl and Don Donnelly - who still owes me $45!!!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
