Today's Featured Biography
John Horner
Since graduating from Borah, I've lived in many parts of the US, from New York, Virginia, and Maryland, to California, Iowa, and Missouri, with stops in Ohio and back in Idaho.
I have my doctorate in theatre from UC Santa Barbara (having taught a few acting students who have gone on to some fame), and currently split my time between my writing (I am a member of the Dramatists Guild of America) and my own business, History Alive, through which I give performances of people from history, mostly for elementary schools. I've even done some performances for schools in Boise and Meridian. (If you're interested, you can see more about my business at my website.)
I am currently working on some different writing projects. The first is a full-length, one-person musical called "Gospel Story," which is my retelling of the story of Jesus. The second is a children's book called The Dancing Tyrant. It's a fairytale, but with no apparent magic. The third is a sequel to Pride and Prejudice.
I've gotten word from my publisher that my book will finally be published in June of this year (2004). It's a collection of my short plays for worship.
I've had a few brushes with fame, perhaps the biggest being the fact that I was Benjamin Bratt's first acting teacher while I was in grad school at UCSB.
This summer I will be spending several weeks in Macon, Missouri, directing a production of The Fantasticks for the Maple City Players. It will be my first musical!
Hemdah and I got married in 1992, and keep falling more and more in love.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
