Today's Featured Biography
George Tseng
Let's see, after 20 yrs. there is a lot to say. After graduation, I went to school in Boston. Enrolled in the Boston University Six Year Medical Program. I guess it shouldn't surprise anyone that knew me that I wanted to be a doctor. After graduation, I entered a General Surgery residency at the Yale/New Haven-Hospital of St. Raphael program in CT. After two years, I switched to an Anesthesiology residency program in Salt Lake City, UT. I then finished a Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship at the Saint Louis Children's Hospital followed by a Critical Care Medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. After looking around CA and the West Coast for a real job, I ended up in HI practicing anesthesiology and critical care medicine for three years. That is where I met my wife. She had moved from Japan to do a medicine residency in HI. I was then dragged back to the Midwest when she was accepted into a Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine fellowship at Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish hospital. I accepted a position here at Washington University as an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine where I have been for the last three years. My wife is now working for the John Cochran VA Medical Center as a Pulmonary/Critical Care specialist to fulfill her J-1 visa obligations.
Along the way I've accomplished many things, yet still have much to do, I was not studying all the time! I was in the Army or Air National Guard for the states that I had lived in. One of the best tours was with the 211th Aviation Group Army Guard as a Flight Surgeion in UT. They flew the Apache and Black Hawk gunships. I ended up as a Major in the HI Air Guard as their Flight Surgeon for the F-15 Strike Eagle squadron and as their Chief of Professional Services. I've since been honorably discharged since Oct. 08, 2004. I've also picked up my black belts in Tae Kwon Do, Shito-Ryu Karate, and Shorin-Ryu Karate along the way. I am now actively pursuing my black belt in the Israeli Combat System of Krav Maga. I've also started a semi-professional photography business called T'Seng Photography. You can see some samples in the above listed personal website section. There's still a lot more to put up on the site, but it's taking time. I've also picked up tennis again since my wife is an accomplished tennis player with an USTA ranking or 4.0-4.5.
Well, that was long! Anyway, email me, especially those of you that I know that live in the Saint Louis area. It would be good to catch up. And no, I won't be able to make it to the reunion. Have a wedding to go to in HI, oh darn! Hope everybody has a good time.
News Flash! Our son was born Oct. 13, 2006, Kensei Sumino Tseng. Cute as a button, and growing!
News Flash, again. Our second son born Aug.3 ,2008, Taisei Sumino Tseng, 4 lbs. 13 oz.
