I attended Graceland College where I met my husdand, Dave. We were married in Aug. 1974. I graduated from Graceland in May, 1975 with a BA in Elementary Ed. and Physical Education. I began teaching for Blue Springs School District in 1975. I finished my Masters Degree in Reading Ed. at UMKC in May 1978. Our first child, Adam was born in 1979, followed by our daughter Lindsey in 1981 and another daughter, Whitney in 1984. I stayed home for 6 years while they were young and then returned to BSSD teaching Kindergarten. I have taught 22 years (are we really that old?) of Kindergarten (16 yrs and counting)and second grade (6 yrs). I have found that five year olds keep me young and I love teaching school. I am currently at Sunny Pointe Elementary on R.D. Mize Road, a few miles from where I grew up! Small world!
Dave works for Hallmark Cards. We live in Blue Springs, and are adjusting to "the empty nest" after several years of having a revolving door for all the teenagers in town.
