Today's Featured Biography
David Vosen
A short summary of the last 20 years:
After high school, I received my B.A. in Chemistry & a Certificate of German Language & Culture from Carleton College in Minnesota. Following college, I worked at a private boarding school in Connecticut and private day school in Philadelphia teaching chemistry and coaching tennis, soccer, and martial arts. My wife, Dr. Elyse C. Vosen, and I met in college and started dating while I was out East. After we got married, we decided to move back to northern Minnesota where her family is.
In Duluth, I taught chemistry and physics courses and chaired the science department at another private high school for ten years. I was fortunate to work part time a few of those years to help raise my daughters and finish a Master’s in Learning Technologies from University of St. Thomas which allowed me to transition into teaching on the college level at College of St. Scholastica. This opportunity has not only allowed me to develop online courses for CSS, in addition to the traditional classroom, but also teach online while spending time back in Montana helping my sister & her husband with their cattle ranch in eastern Montana and my parents tree farm in the furthest reaches of western Montana.
In addition to teaching, I have my own technology consulting business called D.VoZen Designs which does everything from photography, graphic design, and desktop publishing to building websites. Though I like the extra money, I have often donated my time to help our family’s local Synagogue, my Masonic fraternities, as well as friends with websites, newsletters, and technology consulting.
Along with working with technology, some of my favorite things to do are traveling (especially back to Montana), curling, canoeing, swimming (most mornings), listening to music & podcasts, watching movies in my home theater man-cave, growing old with my wife, and laughing with my daughters, Abigail (8), and Zipporah (4).

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
