Freddie Terry
This killer bee farmer and javelina rancher
From the badlands of the Santa Catalina.
Where the cold winter blows both thunder and snow
And the scorpions hang out in my cocina…with the javelina
Yes my fellow members of the class of 1968, I have become the person your parents warned you about.
I have never been married and I never had a real job, although after business school I did work for a short time as an accountant but I got fired for speaking Spanish.
However, this is my 34th season as a beekeeper.
I do maintain African Bees in my Apiaries, and I have worked with them in Brazil, Costa Rica, Nicaragua and Mexico.
Even though I have never had a steady job, I have driven a cab in New York City, made cheese in Wisconsin and worked construction in Germany.
I have been studying, practicing and teaching hatha yoga since 1971.
For more than 20 years I have worked with grade school children teaching Spanish with songs. I recorded three albums, Songs For Learning Spanish, Apicultor Cantante, and El Gringo Vikingo.
This past Spring I was invited to perform at the annual Festival Kino in Magdalena, Sonora. I sang in seven schools and on the main stage.
Other than Yoga I also have a passion for cycling, which I share, with my sweetheart. This fall we will ride in the El Tour De Tucson, a 109-mile bike ride around the perimeter of beautiful Tucson, Arizona.
My sweetheart is a beautiful little Mexican woman from South Tucson named Marie O’Hagin.
