Kenny Pittman

WOW! I can't believe that I'm already 50...seems like yesterday we were in High School.Where do I start...After graduation I went off to ENMU (lack of $). I crammed 4 years into 5. Graduated in 1981 with a BS (literally a BS degree). Also met my wife of 27 years there at a 4_way stop...she was the cop I was the coach. Two of my football players got us hooked up after football practice one day (there is really more to that story)got married 4 months later...(that was a whirlwind) Started coaching and teaching in Hobbs America.Got my first Hd Baseball job in Eunice, went back to Hobbs.Oil bust happened so we were off to Texas for 8 years coaching football and baseball (DC at Stanton for 2 years and Hd Baseball At Levelland). Wife started college at age 27 and went the next 7 straight years at Texas Tech and became an attorney.She got her first job in Roswell so we hitched up the wagons and headed west. She is the city attorney,domestic violence commissioner,guardian ad lien for Chaves Co. and has her own non-profit childrens legal services called Agape Children's Legal Services. I have worked at Goddard HS for the last 15 years teaching Senior English, thanks to Mrs Mooney...coaching Football (winning state in 1997) and coaching baseball. Did a 2 year stint coaching college baseball at NMMI. We have 4 kids...Laurie is 26, married,ER nurse at Convenent Hospital in Lubbock..Sam is 22, 2nd Lt. US Army finishing up college at The Citadel in Charleston, SC... then active duty(Military Intelligence)definitely more intel than his dad...McKaylee 16 (soccer girl) at Goddard and Satchel 11(yes named after Satchel Paige...just figured that I couldn't beg, borrow, or steal a pitcher so we tried to make one...so far it was a good move) I also have a grandaughter..Maddy and she calls me COACH! Other than that, I chase my kids to everything and do whatever my wife tells me to do.(helps increase longevity) I work with Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Goddard..work with the church youth (1st Baptist Church) sing, fly fish, and head up summer baseball and football camps. God has given me a great platform of influence for Him in the classroom and the baseball diamond. You know God had to love baseball cause it is in the Bible twice: Gen 1:1 "in the Big Inning God created it all." You know that He hit a big one with that..and also in Genesis Abraham laid down a sacrifice...WOW the first recorded bunt in history...God also knows how to play small ball in our lives.
