Tony Dunlap was born and raised in the West End of Louisville, Kentucky in 1958 and graduated from DuPont Manual High School in 1976.
In 1979, he received an Associate Arts degree in Business Administration, majoring in Accounting, from the University of Cincinnati. He developed leadership skills and commitment to community service as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., and is currently a member of Delta Alpha Lambda Chapter in Cleveland, Ohio where he serves as sub-chairperson of the voter assistance\registration program entitled “A Voteless People is a Hopeless People”. He has also served as past President of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc., of Alpha Alpha Chapter, University of Cincinnati and Alpha Lambda Chapter, Louisville, Kentucky.
As an Alpha man for 26 plus years, he models his life in the belief in Christ, and incorporates the aims of fraternity manly deeds, scholarship and love for all mankind by taking an active role in all of the communities he has lived in and including civic, religious, political and educational affairs.
He currently volunteers in the Solon School District in Solon, Ohio with the ‘Creating a Safe School Climate (CASS)’ program involving high school male mentors assisting fifth grade boys in identifying and coping with bulling. Further, he serves as PTA council delegate for Roxbury elementary and chess club\team coordinator at Solon Middle, Parkside and Roxbury elementary schools.
With over 23 years of experience in the information technology field, Tony presently serves as Director of Information Technology for the Girl Scouts of Lake Erie Council in Cleveland, Ohio. He has been married for 22 years to Deborah Travis-Dunlap and has a son, Tony Jr, and a daughter, Dominique.
