Today's Featured Biography
Cynthia Gilbert Johnson
After high school graduation, I went to Bellarmine University on an Academic Scholarship and finished in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications with a Minor in Theater Arts. I worked as a Radio Disc Jockey & News personnel on Louisville's 1240 WLLV & 1350 WLOU Gospel Radio Station while in college until 1993.
Afterwards I went into Customer Service and worked for Aetna Health Plans until they closed down in 1995. Shortly after I performed & toured city wide with a Gospel Musical play titled "I feel Like Praising Him" written, directed and produced by our very own Ericka Malone Roberts!
I then worked for Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield until 1999. I married in Feb 1999 and moved to Los Angeles, California with my husband, Brent Johnson (formerly from Jackson, Mississippi). It was during our 10 year high school reunion that I was giving birth to my 1st child in November 2000. My 2nd child was born in October 2002.
In the Los Angeles area, I sang & shared the stage with some of Gospel Music's best recording artists, including Darryl Coley, Norman Hutchinson, Mary Mary, Men of Standard, Yolanda Adams, Cece Winans, & Tonex just to name a few.
In December 2005, my husband (Computer Systems Engineer) accepted a job offer from UPS which paid to relocate us back to Louisville, KY. In May 2007, I gave birth to my LAST child. I am currently working full time as a Mary Kay Future Sales Director and cast member & Tour Manager of an upcoming Musical play "IN LOVE WITH TYRONE." I'm also working on my first solo Gospel Album and hope to release my 1st Single by March 2011.
