Today's Featured Biography
Daren Reese
Kechia and I have been married since 06/06/87. We have three children, Morgan 18, Macey 16, Madison 14. Morgan just graduated from ACHS, class of 2008, and will be attending the University of Kansas. Her goal is to major in Pharmacy, go figure. Macey works with Uncle Brick and plays football, basketball, and baseball. Macey plans to attendend Kansas State University Salina, Airframe Powerplant,and Flight studies. Madison is the extremist of the family, he loves skate-boarding, the computer, and he also works for Uncle Brick.
Kechia and I have been working for Dillon's Pharmacy for 19 and 15 years. This spring we began the process of opening our own pharmacy, located at 224 South Summit. K' an D' Pharmacy will hopefully be open by August 1, 2008. During Arkalala come by and visit, we'll be there. My (Daren) last day at Dillon's was 06/13/08 Friday, how appropriate.
I've been on the Board of Education USD 470 since 2001. As many of you know, the community passed a bond issue for $36 million in March. This includes a new athletic facility west of the high school; tennis courts behind the high school; additions to the Vo-Tech facility; new entrances to the high school and middle school; classrooms in all elementary's allowing all-day kindergarten and 4 yr old programs, these rooms are also FEMA storm shelter; new setting in the Concert Hall, and both gyms of the high school; The bond proceeds will be used to improve items that are in desperate need of improvement. The BOE just approved the sale of bonds Wed June 11, 2008, now we begin the process of developing the specs and asking for bids from contractors. It will take approximately 3-4 years to complete the project, and I believe the first project to be started, the athletic facility.
My other interest in life other than my family, our schools, the pharmacy business, is flying. I obtained my Pilots license in 2006, and I'm flying as often as posible. If any one is interested in flying, just give me a call if you need a mentor.
