Amy Atkins Tebow

Has it been 20 yrs already? Let's see, I cut hair in Ark City for 10 yrs after graduation. Raised a little hell, had some fun! Then I decided to pack up all of my belongings and move to Tulsa, OK in 1999. Not having a single friend or even a job for the 1st 3 days I was in town, I can honestly say, Tulsa has been the most spontanious, gratifying, decision of my LIFE!

I continued to cut hair for 2 yrs while also working at a CPA firm. Four years later I went to work in land development and had the time of my life! I was assisting the 2 owners of the company and the CFO. My job was to travel around to all of our grand openings and open a restaurant. I logged alot of flight miles in those 4 years. It was a blast leaving Tulsa at 7 a.m. landing in Charlotte, NC for lunch and to view a property, then jumping on a plane and being home for cocktails with my girlfriends that evening! I put alot of hours in on the ground too. Working trade shows. UGH! Gotta start somewhere!

As devastating as it was, my job came to an end a year ago, and I've started all over with United States Beef Corporation. They are the largest Arby's franchisee in the United States. It is a family owned and operated company and was built from the ground up. They started with 1 store 40 years ago, and today have 286 stores. Including all of the units in Kansas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and part of Illinois.

I realize this probably comes off big headed, but I am just very proud of what I have done and built for myself on nothing but a high school diploma and an Associates Degree in Cosmetology! I took a chance in life and it has been very rewarding!

I'm eager to hear about all of the chances everybody has taken and obstacles they have worked hard to overcome.

On the flip side, although I have worked very hard the past 20 yrs on my life, career and shaping the person I am today; I am divorced, (have been for 11 yrs)and have no children of my own. I am however, dating my soul mate. We have been together for several years. With him he brings a 2 1/2 year old little boy. Brayden Lynn. He has been in my life since he was 6 months old. That little boy is our life! Our spare time pretty much consists of Scooby Doo, Play Do, snack time, and long afternoon naps! I couldn't ask for anything more!
