Marianne Gutknecht
hi to all. after fmhs, i attended edison and finished at fau in boca raton. from there i packed my bags and headed north to new jersey and never left. i received my bfa in design and tech theater. in the early 80's i began working in atlantic city. except for 2years on the road i have worked here since. i spent one and a half years on the road with american ballet theater's baby company. i also took a show out of atlantic city and had a short run on broadway as a wardrobe supervisor. the show opened the day the shuttle exploded, i supposed it was an omen of things to come for the show as it closed shortly thereafter and thus ended my career on broadway. some dreams become nightmares and we realize it is not where we are to be.
i have no children, but have 6 cats. i had a long term relationship of 12 years that ended. at that time a friend became the love of my life, sheila and i have now been together for 12 years and entered into a civil union in 2001. she is my best friend and one of my best teachers ever. we are both on an earthly and spiritual path. 6 years ago i became a reiki healer and that has brought all parts together.
my family still lives in fla. so i get there about once a year, i can't believe it's the same place i left so many years ago
update...... atlantic city not doing so well, common news, since last info, i became a massage therapist and still a reiki. i balance two careers that have nothing to do with each other, entertainment and spa life. i also married sheila on nov. 8 2013. we have now been civil unioned, domestic partnered and now married, i guess that is why we have stayed together for 19 years. we have 2 grandsons and a mystery baby is due in april. we also care for 9 outdoor feral cats, 7 indoor cats and a dog named max. we are the scary cat ladies that live in the woods and listen to the trees as they breath. well guess that is all that all that's new
