After high school I attended the United States Military Academy at West Point and graduated in 1968. After tours in Germany and Vietnam I decided that a career change was in order, and under the auspices of an Army scholarship, returned to Seattle in 1972 to attend medical school, from which I graduated in 1976. Following, I returned to the military where I underwent specialty and subspecialty training, and, ultimately I retired as a Colonel in 1988 after 20 years of service. My medical career, in kidney disease and kidney transplantation has taken me to Indiana University, Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, and the Cleveland Clinic. In 2002 I was fortunate enough to meet the love of my life, Jan, and we married in 2005. In 2006, after 25 years, I left active practice, now live in Devon, (Philadelphia suburb) and work in the pharmaceutical industry. I hope to continue working for the next two years or so, and then hopefully will retire to a life of travel and fine wine.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
