Wendy Blair Hermanson

I stayed in Bremerton until Thanksgiving weekend after graduation. Then went to Montana and visited relatives until after the New Year, then on to Minnesota to be near my sister, met my husband and went to work in accounts payable of an electronics firm. I continued to work in the electronics field until 1999 doing various jobs, such as coordinator of data entry, helping refine the design, build and test GPS engines for heavy duty equipment. I then opened a cleaning business for 6 years, decided to quit that and manage a local business. A year ago I decided I wanted more time at home and to spend more time with my grandchildren. I still do the accounting for a quaint little country store and in my spare time I help a few elderly people, one being my 92 year old mother. I feel so blessed to still have her. I also strengthen my faith in God serving on various committees within my church, have taught sunday school and sang with the ladies groups.
My husband and I will celebrate our 34th anniversary this December, hard to believe it has been that long. We live on our 210 acre farm in southeastern Minnesota, with lots of woods and rolling hills. We rent out most of our tillable land now saving only 20 acres of hay ground for our horses. Merlin does miss the farming some so he compensates by doing seasonal work for a local agriculture firm and also helping his elderly mother maintain her farm.
My hobbies include, reading, cake decorating, karaoke, minimal horse back riding,and best of all spending time at our campsite on the edge of our woods, with all of the family. We play croquet, volleyball, horseshoes, bean bag toss, sit by the campfire, grill of cook over the campfire, but one of our favorite things is the challenge of playing the games after dark.
Our son Mike (Wendy) and their children Emily 10 Ethan 6 and Matthew 8wks live about 12 miles from us. Mike operates his own construction business.
Our oldest daughter Tara (Jami) and their children Indra 9 and Kyla 2 1/2 live less than 20 miles from us. Tara works in accounts payable for a world wide company.
Our second daughter Lisa is an honor student at UW majoring in Sociology. She will be a junior this fall. When in school she is about 2 hours from home. She is home for the summer, working for a local contraactor building grain bins.
Our youngest daughter Sammy will be a senior in high school this fall. She also maintains honor roll status. She works 2 parttime jobs and is still living at home.
I know this has gotten quite long but is the first contact I have had with all but 2 from our graduating class. Liza Belgarde came to visit 5 years ago, and Karen O'Neal came 4 years ago and Karen and I are still in constant touch it has been like we were never apart.
Am not sure if I will make it for the reunion.
