Today's Featured Biography
David Reese
Dave is Chief of the Production, Information, and Collection Branch at the U.S. Army Counterintelligence Center, Fort George G. Meade, MD. In this capacity he is responsible for daily planning, executing, and evaluating Production Management, Collection Requirements Management, Library Operations, and Information Technology support for the Army’s sole multidiscipline, all-source counterintelligence (CI) analysis and production center.
Dave’s previous Army civilian assignments include Director of the U.S. Army Asian Studies Detachment (ASD), Camp Zama, Japan, and CI/HUMINT Operations Officer, 441st Military Intelligence Battalion, Camp Zama, Japan. Prior to his appointment as ASD Director, he also served as that unit’s Operations Division Chief and Northeast Asia Branch Chief.
Prior to serving as a Department of the Army Civilian, Dave served in the U.S. Air Force for over 22 years as a Russian and Japanese linguist. His active duty assignments included various SIGINT and HUMINT operational and leadership assignments at Kadena Air Base, Japan; Yokota Air Base, Japan; Sembach Air Base, Germany; and Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska. His major qualifications included RC-135 RIVET JOINT and COMBAT SENT Airborne Mission Supervisor, EC-130H COMPASS CALL Mission Crew Supervisor (MCS), and E-3 AWACS Area Specialist.
Dave served on combat duty while deployed with the 7440th Combat Wing to Incirlik Air Base, Turkey, during Operations DESERT STORM and PROVIDE COMFORT. As COMPASS CALL MCS, he directed signals interception and jamming of Iraqi Air Force command and control communications nodes to ensure the success of allied Suppression of Enemy Air Defense (SEAD) operations over Northern Iraq.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Management from the University of Maryland and an Associate of Applied Science degree in Interpreting and Translating from the Community College of the Air Force. His military and occupational education includes the Defense Strategic Debriefing Course (DSDC), Military Operations Training Course (MOTC), Army Supervisor Development Course, and the Air Force Senior NCO Academy.
He is the recipient of the Army MI Corps Association’s Knowlton Award. His other major awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal for Civilian Service, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Kuwait Liberation Medals awarded by the governments of Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Dave is married to the former Mieko Miyazaki of Yokohama, Japan. They live in Annapolis, MD.
