Today's Featured Biography
Mark Olson
Mark A. Olson, 23, of 714 Mahantango Drive, Chambersburg, died Friday morning, March 7, 2008, as a result of injuries suffered in a motor vehicle accident on Fifth Avenue, Chambersburg.
Born March 28, 1984, in Long Beach, Calif., he was a son of Gary A. and Mary A. (Rose) Olson of Chambersburg.
He was a 2002 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School where he played soccer, basketball, and baseball.
Following high school graduation he attended Alleghany Community College and was then employed with Valley Quarries in Chambersburg.
He had lived and worked in Florida for the past year and returned to Chambersburg in October.
An avid sportsman, he played for the Chambersburg Maroons, played American Legion Baseball and enjoyed playing softball.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Jared W. Olson and Trenton W. Olson, both of Chambersburg; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Olson of Chambersburg; maternal grandparents, James and Kathi Rose of Seattle, Wash., and Richard and Linda Trujillo of Whittier, Calif.; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Chambersburg Maroons, in care of Steve Patterson, 817 Hillcrest Ave., Chambersburg, Pa. 17202.
