Somehow I ended up working in computers. The reasons remain unclear.
I spent a lot of years teaching composition here and there. I went to college (Bryn Mawr, outside of Philadelphia), got a Ph.D. (Brandeis, outside of Boston), and now work at Hofstra (in Hempstead, outside of New York). Perhaps someday I shall be inside something.
My book Postcolonial Literature from Three Continents is available at Amazon.com and I recommend it if you need a very expensive, very heavy object with which to crush small bugs. I have a couple of other academic articles here and there. I'm working on my creative writing these last few years since I realized teaching a full load of college composition courses is about as much fun as a good solid kick to the head. My screenplay "Jailer" was a semifinalist in the 2004 Nicholl Competition and I have a short story that will be published next year, breaking my long streak of writing stuff that no one wants to publish.
Long Island is dreadful, don't come here, but if you do, let me know, I know where there's some good sushi.
